J. Scott Harkness, CFA* is Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer and Portfolio Manager of Provident Trust Company (formerly Provident Investors, LLC), which he established in 1998. Prior to founding Provident Trust Company, Mr. Harkness was Chairman of Firstar Investment Research and Management Company (“FIRMCO”), where he served as Chief Investment Officer (“CIO”) since its incorporation in 1986. Prior to assuming his role at FIRMCO, Mr. Harkness was a Senior Vice President and CIO for Firstar Bank Madison (formerly First Wisconsin National Bank of Madison) which he joined in 1980. Mr. Harkness managed the Firstar Special Growth Fund and the Firstar Special Equity Growth Fund B from 1989 and 1981, respectively, until his departure. Mr. Harkness has over forty-six years of investment experience. Mr. Harkness is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Madison. Mr. Harkness is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Milwaukee.
Michael A. Schelble, CFA*, JD, MS is President, Chief Operating Officer, Director and Portfolio Manager of Provident Trust Company (formerly Provident Investors, LLC) where he has been employed since its inception in 1998. Prior to Provident Trust Company, Mr. Schelble was Vice President and Portfolio Manager for FIRMCO, which he joined in 1994. At FIRMCO his responsibilities included individual management of taxable and tax-exempt accounts for individuals and institutions. Prior to FIRMCO, Mr. Schelble worked as a Trust Officer for Firstar Trust Company which he joined in 1993. Mr. Schelble has over thirty years of investment experience. Mr. Schelble is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Law School, the University of Wisconsin School of Business and Williams College. Mr. Schelble is a member of the CFA Institute, the CFA Society of Milwaukee, and the State Bar of Wisconsin.
Lee G. Wolcott, JD joined Provident Trust Company in 2001 and is a Vice President and Senior Trust Officer. Prior to Provident Trust Company, Mr. Wolcott was Vice President and Head of Personal Trust Administration for U.S. Bank (formerly Firstar Trust Company) which he joined in 1968. Mr. Wolcott has over fifty years of investment and trust experience, including thirty-three years of Personal Trust experience with U.S. Bank. Mr. Wolcott is a graduate of Cornell Law School and Hamilton College. Mr. Wolcott is also a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin.
Thomas N. Tuttle, Jr., JD joined Provident Trust Company in 2010 and is a Trust Officer, Vice President and Director. Prior to Provident Trust Company, Mr. Tuttle was President of The PrivateBank N.A. from 2008 to 2010 after having served as Head of Wealth Management at The PrivateBank – Wisconsin from 2005 to 2008. Prior to joining The PrivateBank, Mr. Tuttle served as Vice President and Director of Wealth Management at Marshall & Ilsley Trust Company which he joined in 1995. Mr. Tuttle has thirty-one years of legal, trust and wealth management experience. Mr. Tuttle is a graduate of the New York University School of Law and the University of Wisconsin – Madison and is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin.
James R. Daley, JD joined Provident Trust Company in 2012 and is Chief Compliance Officer. Prior to joining Provident Trust Company, Mr. Daley was a Compliance Officer for M&I Investment Management Corp. which he joined in 2007. Mr. Daley has over twenty years of financial services experience with a broad-based background in banking, trust administration and investment management. Mr. Daley graduated from Marquette University Law School and the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee and is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin.
Paul C. Baures joined Provident Trust Company in 2020 and is a member of the Trading and Operations Teams. Mr. Baures has over thirty-one years of experience in the financial service industry including eighteen years working for Broadview Advisors, LLC. Mr. Baures holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Philosophy from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee.
Genevieve Lauren Harkness joined Provident Trust Company in 2010 and is a member of the Administration and Trading Teams. Ms. Harkness has over fourteen years of experience in the investment and financial services industry. Ms. Harkness graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in English Literature from Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia. After graduating, Ms. Harkness took several business classes at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee.
Katherine M. Jaworski, CPA joined Provident Trust Company in 2018 and is an Operations Officer and member of the Operations Team. Ms. Jaworski has over twenty-five years of experience in the financial services industry with a focus on accounting and investment operations. Ms. Jaworski is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from University of Wisconsin – Whitewater and a Master’s Degree in Accounting from University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee.
Andrea L. Kulich joined Provident Trust Company in 2012 and is a member of the Operations Team. Ms. Kulich has over seventeen years of banking experience between The PrivateBank and M&I Bank. She has worked in many areas of banking including the Loan Operations Department at The PrivateBank.
Scott P. Martinson joined Provident Trust Company in 2018 and is a member of the Administration Team. Mr. Martinson has over twenty-eight years of administrative and customer service experience which includes eighteen years working for Bank One and JPMorgan Chase in their Trust department within Private Wealth Management. Mr. Martinson has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
Tamara J. Messmer joined Provident Trust Company in 2004 and is an Administrative Officer and member of the Trading Team. Ms. Messmer has over thirty-five years of financial services experience, thirteen of which were with FIRMCO and U.S. Bank Institutional Trust. Ms. Messmer is a graduate of Milwaukee Area Technical College with an Associate Degree in Accounting.
Nathaniel Walker joined Provident Trust Company in 2017 and is a member of the Administration and Operations Teams. Mr. Walker has over thirty-five years of Administrative and Customer Service experience, including twenty-five years in the investment and financial service industry, five of which were with FIRMCO. Mr. Walker completed several administrative, management, and leadership courses through the Marine Corps and attended the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh.
